What we collect
When you submit a Google Maps list, Map Club collects the link, the destination you chose, your mobile number, and the fact that you agreed to be texted, with the date and the wording you agreed to.
What we use it for
Your mobile number is used to tell you we received your submission, to tell you what Map Check decided, to send you a secure link to the maps you unlocked, and to send you a new link when you ask for one because the old one expired. Nothing else.
Message frequency varies, usually up to four messages per submission. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for help.
What we never do
Mobile numbers and SMS consent information are not sold. Mobile information is not shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Map Club does not send marketing texts.
Who else sees it
Twilio carries our text messages and processes the number as a service provider so a message can reach your phone. Our hosting and database providers store the site and its data. Each receives only what is necessary to run the service, and none of them receives it for their own marketing.
How it is stored
Your number is encrypted before it is stored, and is looked up through a keyed value rather than the number itself. Ordinary administrative screens show only the last four digits. These measures reduce risk. No service can promise absolute security, and we do not.
Keeping and removing it
We keep your submission and the record of what you unlocked so your access keeps working. Reply STOP at any time and we will stop texting you. Your existing access is not taken away when you do.
